Circus Fun!!!

We went to the Circus last night. It was a lot of fun. I've never been before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was awesome! They had lions, tigers, bears, elephants, ponies, poodles, a magician, acrobatic people, jugglers, 3 guys who ride their motorcycles in a circular cage from Vegas (which was awesome, but I have seen them twice before) and a few other people doing some crazy things that would take forever to describe. I tried to take pictures, but with the lighting it was kind of difficult. I did get a few vidoes but my camera died. Luckily I did get the one where Spencer volunteered to help out! That's right Spencer was in the Circus! We all had a great time though. Even Treyson, who won't sit through more than 15 mins of a fun kid movie, was a gem. He was dancing and clapping and laughing all on his own and only got fussy during the intermission. It was so cute. Anyway, the only video I'm posting of it is the one of Spencer, although if I would have had one of some of my other favorite acts, I would have posted them too. Dang Camera! Or I guess it would be Dang Me for not charging the battery!

(For those who can't tell, Spencer is the shortest guy on the right!)

Help! It's Potty Training Time!

Ok, so I finally decided I'm going to get Treyson potty trained. We've been working on if for a week or so, but I haven't been all that consistant. I usually do good in the mornings and then slack off, but no more! I'm getting this done! Treyson does pretty good with going pee pee in the potty, but I don't think he quite gets the poop part. He will "tute" as you would politely say and then run to the the potty, but that's all that ever happens. So anyway, the reason I'm blogging about this is, I NEED ADVICE!!! If your like me, I don't remember much about potty training, but maybe someone out there does or has just went through it. I would especially like some advice from anyone who has potty trained a little boy. So if anyone out there can help me, PLEASE DO!!!

I Love My Silly Little Ones

So this morning, I'm getting Addison ready so she can head out to catch the bus and I started thinking, "Treyson is being way too quiet." I went out to check on him and there he was in the kitchen eating a FROZEN corndog. That's really all there was to the story, but he just cracks me up.

So, now to Addi, this morning I was doing her hair and she goes, "I can't wait to get my pet fish." So I asked her, "Why do you think your going to have a pet fish?" And she says, "Because I just really want a pet fish." So I told her pretty much that "maybe" when we move into our house she can have a pet fish, but well discuss it once we're moved in and settled. After that she was so excited and she wouldn't stop talking about it. Then she goes, "But mom, What will we do with it if it dies? Throw it away?" So I told her, "I don't know probably flush it down the toilet." Then she goes, "That's a good idea so then it can go back to the ocean where it belongs! That's what we'll have to do!" I'm pretty sure she got that off of "Finding Nemo", but she is just so silly. All that talk because I told her "maybe" she could have a fish.

I just thought this was really cute. I was doing puzzles with Treyson and everytime he finished one he would start singing as he put it away and then he would tell me the next puzzle he wanted to do and we would start over with the process. We did this about six times until I finally talked him into playing Mr. Potato head instead.

I just feel so blessed to have these two little sweet children.

Christmas 2008

I just wanted to do a quick, or not so quick, post of some Christmas photos. It was a great Christmas and although we talked a lot about presents and Santa, we also discussed the birth of Christ a lot. Treyson didn't listen so well, but Addison seems to mostly understand what Christmas is really about. Anyway, I didn't get Christmas cards out as usual. Things get so hectic and I forget until its too late. I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Spencer's work party.
Everyone got a present from Santa and we all had to sit on his lap. I felt pretty darn silly, but I decided to be a good sport about it. If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at? It was a nice party and the kids had a blast.

Christmas Morning.
It was hard to keep the kids out of the living room until everyone was up and ready. Treyson was in a daze for the first bit. He walked over to the presents and just stared with a half/surprised smile on his face. It didn't take him too long to get into it though. Addison on the other hand looked for a second and then started digging into things. I tried not to spoil them this year, but that didn't work so well. Especially with all their gifts from other family members.

Christmas day
We were supposed to be on our way to St. George, but with all the snow storms we didn't feel good about going, so we decided to stay home. We were bummed, but we decided when God gives you snow, play in it:) The kids loved riding around in the sled so we were out there for a pretty long time.

The day after Christmas.
We decided the weather had cleared up enough and felt ok about the roads, so off we went to Sunny St. George, Utah. The weather there was WONDERFUL! It was a little chilly, but not really cold. We always love going home. The kids were so excited to see all of Spencer's family (as were we) and of course, they got spoiled, once again. If you haven't noticed by now, Treyson got a lot of Winnie the Pooh stuff. He is so obsessed with him and all his hundred acre wood friends, so that's what everyone got him.

These were my two favorite Christmas gifts.
The 1st one, Spencer got for me. He put it in a box with a bunch of cans to through me off. I was confused at first cause I wasn't sure if the keys were a representation of me getting a house for Christmas of if I had been punked and they were really for the house. I was slightly disappointed to realize they were a representation of getting the house, but I loved it none the less. I thought it was a very creative gift.
The 2nd one, my parents got for me. I gave them a few ideas of things I wanted, but the one I thought I for sure wouldn't get was a large picture of Christ to go in my new house. Well, surprise, I got one! I love it, too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPENCER!!!

Today was Spencer's 26th birthday. It's crazy to think that I met him for the first time when he was 16. That's 10 years! It doesn't seem that long ago. Time really does fly. It's also crazy to think about the fact that in 4 years he is going to be the big 3-0. When your a kid that seems like it will never come and it just creeps right up on you. It's all good though. Spencer has only gotten better with age. He is such a good person with a gigantic heart. He is so good to me and the kids and would do anything for us. He definitly keeps life interesting. For those of you who know him, you know what I mean. He can always get me to laugh and he is always there when I need someone to talk to. He is not only my husband, he is my best friend. I just wanted to take a minute to brag about my sweet husband on his special day. He truely is an amazing spirit. He has overcome so much is his life and everything he has went through has made him a better and stronger person. I am so very blessed to have him in my life. Happy Birthday Spencer! I love you!

Ok, now the picture explanation. Today, for Spencer's birthday, we took a trip to Sundance to go snowboarding. I thought Spencer was a little crazy wanting to go on New Years Day after staying up til midnight and dealing with the crowd, but since he was the birthday boy I left it up to him. Overall, it was a great day. We had a lot of fun together flying down the slopes. Or maybe that was just Spencer. I did a lot of falling and sitting down the slopes. I do ok for myself, but I still struggle a little. I can at least get down the hill somewhat quickly though. Spencer was kind enough to keep stopping every so often to wait for me. I told him he didn't have to, but he stayed with me the whole day. With the exception of one time. He was giving me a head start and when I got to a fork in the slopes I sat down to wait for him and he didn't come. It was our very first run down and I hadn't been in 2 years so I was pretty rusty right at first. Finally, I came to the conclusion that he had ditched me and would probably be waiting at the bottom, so off I went to find him. Finally, Spencer came flying up behind me and I came to find out that he didn't ditch me. He thought I had went off the cliff at the top because there was no way I could have made it all the way around the corner before he got there. He was looking all over for me and freaking out a little. Finally, he decided to try going further down the slope and there I was, alive and well, not going quite as slow as he thought. I was glad he didn't ditch me and he was glad that I didn't fall of the cliff. Another happy ending. Anyway, we had a great day together out on the freezing cold slopes. Sorry the pics aren't that great. It was hard to take them on the lift cause it was shakey, I was shakey, and it was windy and I didn't really want to stop any other time to take more.

1 Week til Christmas!!!

Well, just so everyone knows, we will not be into our house by Christmas. It's ok though, it will be soon enough. Probably the first part of January. It saves me a lot of time during this holiday season, so I will be a lot less stressed. Anyway, so this year we decorated my mom's house and the kids loved it. Addison has a harder time staying away from the ornaments than Treyson does. She loves small and cute things. Drives her mom a little crazy at times. Anyway, I just wanted to post some pictures of our decorations and the kids.

This picture was kind of funny cause I wanted the kids to sit on their knees for the picture and so I told Treyson to kneel down like we're saying prayers, so he did. I tried to get him to unfold his arms, but he wouldn't. I thought it was cute though.

This was the only one with the star in it.

My favorite of our 3 nativity sets.

Our ginormous poinsettia plant that our my parents realtor gave us.

Most of our decorations

Silly Treyson!!!

My dads friend came over last week to help him fix something and when he took his boots off, Treyson jumped right into them. He thought he was so cool. He couldn't even walk in them. He is such a silly kid.

My friend Katie and I went to Walmart to do some Christmas shopping and since we each have a little boy, we got one of the carts that have two seats in front of the cart that face each other to help keep them entertained. Well, next thing I knew, I looked over and Treyson was out cold! He kept doing little grins in his sleep and he didn't even wake up when we went out into the snowy parking lot. I just thought it was cute.

We're Buying a House!!!

Spencer and I are buying a house! Well, actually we're buying a duplex. I was going to wait and do a post after we closed, but I can't stop thinking about it and I'm so excited I just wanted to talk about it, or write in this case. We're hoping to be in by Christmas, but that may be pushing it so I keep trying to tell myself it will be by the first of January so I don't get my hopes up so high. We are so excited to have a place of our own. We looked at a lot of houses of all shapes, sizes, and qualities. We finially decided on a duplex. When I say dulpex, I do mean two. We are buying the whole thing and are going to rent out the other side. They are brand new
(it's supposed to be finished this week, but we'll see). It's about 1500 sq. ft. on each side. It's two stories, with 3 bed, 2 bath upstairs and everything else including a half bath is downstairs. I got to go pick out the appliances on Monday and I am so anxious now. The days are going too slowly. We feel so blessed by the way things have worked out. We are only about two blocks away from my parents and we get to stay in the same ward. We really feel that it is where we are meant to be. I am so grateful for my parents sharing their home with us for the past eight months and we love them dearly, but it's time to get back to being our own family. Anyway, I will taking some pictures after our home is all cleaned up and post them.

Thanksgiving Weekend

For Thanksgiving this year we went down to Sunny St. George. It was so nice there. The weather was perfect (excluding Thanksgiving day, it was quite rainy). It was really good to be able to see most of Spencer's family and just enjoy spending time together. I didn't get many pics on this trip, but I wanted to tell a little bit about it. Thanksgiving day was great. We had so many people around that we love and so much to be greatful for. The food was pretty good too, of course. After visiting most of the day my sister-in-law, Subrina and our cousin Jessica talked me into going shopping. I told them I would go to a few places that night with them, but as much as they were begging I said, NO WAY to the black friday stuff. Well, once it was starting to get late they just kept begging and begging me to go, so of course I finally gave in. We shopped all night until 7 AM. I can't believe all the crazy people that do this. It was a mad house everywhere we went. Most of these people aren't nice either. They know what they want and they'll do anything to get it. What a great Chistmas attitude huh? I think everyone forgot completely what Christmas was about. Even though all this craziness was going on it was still a lot of fun. Mostly just because of the people I was with. We had a lot of good laughs and that part made the night worth it. The deals were okay, but it wasn't about that for me. I have a lot of crazy stories about that day, but I've went on enough about that. The rest of the weekend we pretty much just hung out with family enjoying one anothers company. We kept trying to get the kids over to the mall to see Santa while we were there and after two nights of things preventing that from happening we finally made it on Sunday before we had to head home. Kensi and Addison were so excited to finally see Santa and I think Treyson was mostly weirded out, but he at least sat there without crying and managed to tell Santa he wanted Pooh Bear for Christmas. Anyway, that was basically our Thanksgiving.
