My Little Angels

Nothing special was going on here. I just was taking pictures and couldn't resist adding a post with their smiling faces. They are such sweet little spirits and I'm so happy that they are my little angels.

Addison's Grandma Jo got her these Dora shoes and Addison was so excited to have them. She woke up and got all dressed up and was playing on the couch like this. I thought it was pretty cute.

Gone Fishing!!!

Since I decided to buy a fishing license I decided I was going to actually use it. So, I talked my brother-in-law, Steve, and my sister, Rachel, into going fishing with me. We drove up to Red Fleet to the free beach and had a good ol' time.

Rachel and Steve fishing. They didn't know I was snapping pictures.

Of course I had to have a picture of me fishing. I fished a little when I was little, but to be honest, I had no clue what I was doing. It had been at least 10 years since I went last and I hardly went before that. Thanks to Steve I learned not to cast like I was throwing a softball and learned to let the pole do more of the work. They had some good laughs watching me before they told me I looked like and idiot, of course.
So anyway, I bought my license the day before we went up to Red Fleet, my very first fishing license! Well, I was off away from the others and I see a guy walk up to steve, but had no clue what was going on. Then he starts trekking over to me. Can you guess what he wanted? He wanted to see my license! Well, guess where my license was? In the car...ya I didn't know you were supposed to have it on you and never thought much about it cause honestly who gets asked for their license? I told him is was in my sisters car but I would go get it, but he didn't want to walk clear back the the car to see it and I told him how it was my first time fishing as an adult and I was still learning and he was really cool about it. He said I didn't look worried about it and I seemed like an honest person so he would take my word for it since he had some more walking around to do. He asked if I had caught anything and I hadn't so he started giving me tips to show up the others and told me where to go. So of course, I listened.
My sister saw him talking to me and hurry and ran up to the car to get my license so on his way back I went and showed him my license so that he knew for sure I was telling the truth. That's when he saw it...my pole. I had everything on all wrong! He was really nice and helped me to put everything on right and gave me a few more tips before he took off. It was quite an interesting fishing trip.

That's about all we ended up catching... a towel...and some moss!

So we were getting ready to head home and I was dreading having to put my muddy feet into my shoes so I came up with a bright idea...ding...I would put Walmart sacks on my feet! So I rinsed them off and tied some sacks on. I had now idea Steve was behind me about to kick me in. I thought they were laughing at me, but they were laughing at Steve. Luckily he was just playing and really didn't do it.

I walked up to the car like this, I'm such a weirdo!

I can't believe I'm posting this one. My sister's car is pretty new and she did not want me in her car all wet. So another bright plan of mine...I stripped down and wore my jacket like a skirt. I was able to get into her car dry and clean. My brother-in-law on the other hand, he sat in the booster seat with some Walmart sacks hanging off the edge to protect the seats. We forgot to get a picture of that one though. It was pretty funny.

We had a lot of good laughs, a lot of fun, and quite a bit of peace and quiet. It was such a great fishing trip and I plan on doing a lot more. I'm just nervous to actually catch one, cause then I won't know what to do with it!

Best Friends, Practically Sisters

My best friend from babyhood came to Vernal this past weekend. We have been together since before we can even remember. We have had times where we were distant, but we are always drawn back to each other. Lea is more like another sister to me. We were together all the time growing up. She practically lived at my house during summertime when we didn't have school. Things are so comfortable with us and we just connect. I will always love her as if she was my sister.

Me and Lea after a great weekend together

Just being silly

We went fishing on Saturday, but the weather was really windy and we took Addison with us, so we were busy the whole time trying to get our lines out and keep them there that we didn't really have time to take pictures of our fishing trip, so we geared up like we were going so we could take a picture to remind us of our fishing trip.

Lea is known for making a scrumptious cheesecake. She was always making cheesecake for us and even sold them at Big Mama's when she worked there. She was always doing new things with them and making them look so pretty. They are so good! I wanted to take a picture before we ate it, but forgot, so it doesn't look quite as pretty, but it was oh so yummy. She even taught me how to make one, so one day I will have to attempt it.

Love you Lea!

Learning to Swim!

Addison LOVES to swim, so I put her into swimming lessons at the new rec center. She took level 1 twice in Hurricane, but this year she moved on to level 2. She had a blast. She was in the same class as two of her cousins, Dallin and Dawson, and her cousin Camber was there too, but she was in a different class. At first I was thinking, "Two Weeks! That's it! What can they possibly learn in two weeks?" Well, I was amazed! All of the kids had progressed so much by the time it was over. All of the kids had the basic idea of swimming and some could do it quite well actually. Addison was the youngest and smallest in her class, but even she did pretty good. She probably would have learned even more if she would pay better attention. She liked to ignore the teacher too much and just do "bobs" up and down in the water. None of the kids passed level two because you have to be able to swim short way across the big pool without any help, but some were pretty close. Addison's teacher told me that Addison did really good other than she needs to pay a little more attention, but she LOVES the water and isn't scared of it which is a really good thing. I'll probably be putting her back in swimming lessons next month because I want her to keep progressing and not forget what she's learned.

Addison's teacher helped her most of the time in this video, but at the end she does it on her own. Which reminds me, one time she jumped into the water and jumped too far in and she turned around the grab the wall and it wasn't there. You could see a bit of panic in her eyes and the teacher started to rush to her and when he got to her we both realized she was staying above the water. She was doggie paddling her way to the wall, so he didn't help her at all he just stayed right behind her to make sure she made it. It was kind of cool to watch that. She is getting so big!

These are of Addi jumping off the diving board. The 2nd one has Dallin jumping off and then Addison. Right at the end you can kind of see the kid after Addison do a belly flop, poor kid. He jumped the same way every time and kept belly flopping.

Playdate at the Splash Park

So, I've decided that since I'm in a new place and the only people around that I know are my family, I am putting myself out there to make some friends. It took me 3 years in Hurricane to really make any friends. How sad is that? Then finally Katie dragged me to church volleyball and we actually made some friends. I decided I did not want to be that way anymore. As hard as it is for me, I am putting myself out there so I don't have some of those same regrets later on. Every Wed. the moms in my ward have a playdate. They all get together and enjoy each others company while the kids all play together. I've thought about going, but I didn't want to go alone so I put it off. Then last week they decided to go to the splash park and I had been wanting to take my kids, so I decided once and for all I just needed to go. On the way there I started feeling a little anxious, but little Addi said we had to go cause I promised. So, we actually made it there. At first it was a little bit awkward, but then I really started to enjoy myself and got to talk to a lot of nice girls.
I also started a job yesterday and I just decided to talk to everyone and not be so stinkin' shy. It's a fun job, I think, and everyone was really nice. I am working for a wedding business and I just do whatever they need and he works me when I want and doesn't when I don't. That was perfect for me since I'm with my kids all day and my sister's most of the time too. Since most people get married on weekends, its easier to have someone to watch Addi and Trey. I don't really have to work, but extra money is always helpful and as much as I love my kids, it's nice to get away for a few hours and enjoy other adults company.
Anyway, that was a lot of writing. Now I'll get to the fun stuff, the pictures/video of the splash park.

Addi trying to decide if she wanted to get wet

Treyson running...

..and running

Making sure I'm watching

Sitting in her towel eating lunch

This is what Treyson did almost the whole time. He loved the rainbow. It was so cold that day. Usually the sun is shining and pretty it's pretty hot, but not the day we choose to go to the splash park. It was overcast and windy and the water felt ice cold. It felt good just sitting outside, but being wet is a different story. Addison went in once and wouldn't go back in. Hardly any kids at all would even go in the water. So, it was funny how brave Treyson was and how much fun he was having.

Memory Tag

My friend Katie had this on her blog and I thought I would see if I get any fun remarks. I don't know how many people look at this thing, but I had fun commenting on hers so here we go.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. I can't wait to see what people remember.

Raging Waters!!!

For the 4th of July, Spencer and I headed up to good ol' Salt Lake City. We left the kids with Grandma and Aunt Rachie so that we could have a much needed break. We had a blast! On the 4th we just headed to the park to watch the fire works. It was so crazy. There was like three park area's nearby that they did fireworks at. I thought the traffic was bad getting out of St. George's fireworks. Not even close. It was really fun though. We just enjoyed talking and laughing together. The fireworks were pretty, but we sure waited a long time for such a short show, then there was the walk to the car and trying to get home. Spencer jammed his toe into the side walk on the way back to the car and it cut it pretty good and there was a good amount of blood for a cut. Poor guy still had to walk the rest of the way to the car and we had nothing to put on it, so we just had to fight our way through traffic and wait til we were back to Valee's to bandage it up. Over all though, it was a fun night.

Then on the 5th we slept in and woke up to find Valee making us strawberry waffles, yummy! Then we got all ready and headed to Raging Waters. We had to wait outside til Valee's parents got there and their car broke down, so it took a while. We were waiting on them cause for Jordan and Valee's birthday every year they pay for everyone who goes and there were like thirty-something of us. So we made the best of it and snapped a bunch of pictures. I knew I wouldn't stop to do it inside the park, so it's good we took some outside the park. It was such a fun day. I love water parks. I could go on for quite some time about the day, but I won't. It was just so nice to get away and do something fun without having to chase kids everywhere and it was good to get together with some old friends.

This wasn't near all of us. Mostly people Spencer and I went to high school with and a few relatives of Valee's.

Anna, Valee, and Michelle...together again...what hotties!

We were trying to be creative, so of course, we did an original pyramid.

We talked the guys into showing some muscle. They all felt silly.

Then Valee, Anna and I decided to show some muscle. I ended up looking more like a gorilla. We had some good time though.

Happy Birthday Treyson!

Treyson is 2 years old!!! Can you believe it? Time just flies right by. His birthday was on July 3rd. We kept it pretty simple, but the kids had a blast. We just had dinner, then did presents and then had some cake. The kids played with all his new toys for a while until it was dark and then we went outside and did a bunch of fireworks. Treyson loved the fireworks. The loud ones scared him a little bit, but over all he kept laughing and saying pretty. It was a good night.

Treyson is such a sweet little guy. He loves to give hugs and kisses. He'll go around the room over and over and just give hugs and kisses to everyone in the room. His very favorite thing to do is to play outside. He just loves being outdoors. He takes everyone their shoes over and over and says, "Outside?". I guess he figures if he brings you your shoes you'll take him out. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. He loves to play with Addison and he loves to pick on her. I always have told her that one day Treyson would do to her what she does to him. Well, he is only two and is starting to pick on her now. Revenge is sweet. It's crazy how much he talks now. He can usually tell me exactly what he wants with out crying to get it. Every day it seems he learns new words. He is constantly surprising me by saying and doing knew things. He brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. We are so blessed to have him in our family and I look forward to seeing him grow from one birthday to the next. I wish it would go a little slower, but I will enjoy in nonetheless.

Treyson was trying so hard to blow out his candle, but wasn't having much luck, so I blew really hard from across the table and it went out and he clapped and said, YAY!

Treyson seemed to know exactly what was going on and that all the presents were for him. He was so so excited.

He got this lawn mower from Grandma and Grandpa Ehler. He absolutely loved it.

He wanted to keep playing with the lawn mower, but I made him come and help open more presents.

Treyson left to get his lawn mower after every present.

Finally, his last present! Of course I saved the best for last. He wouldn't come help me so I opened up the front so he could see what it was and, HURRAY! He actually wanted to play with something else. What was this gift you might ask, well the next picture will show you.

I knew he would love it. He loves cars. We make ramps sometimes and he drops the cars down them over and over. Every morning when he wakes up this is the first toy he goes to. The one problem we have with it, is he doesn't want to share, but we're working on it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREYSON!!!

On Our Way Home...

We were going to go back home through Emery County, but decided that we wanted to see my brother, plus we like the drive that way a lot better. It's a beautiful drive and a lot less windy. Time wise, it's about the same, but we still decided to go through Provo. I don't get to see my brother very often and so I try to every chance I get. It's funny how things can change. He used to torture me and I didn't like him very much and now I love him and love to spend time with him. We had a nice quick dinner at the Olive Garden and then it was time to get back on our way.

Addi was in the process of saying goodbye to Uncle Dane when some emergency vehicles pulled in and went to the dollar store behind us. She got a little distracted.

Trey saying goodbye.

Spencer and Dane we flexing their muscles for a picture when someone walked out of the Olive Garden and they got embarrassed and wouldn't do it anymore. The bums!

Our 1st Visit Back to St. George

This past weekend we took a quick trip to St. George. Its a 6 hour drive and we left Friday at 7:00PM and arrived at 1:00Am. We were only able to stay until about 3:00PM on Sunday and then it was back on the road for us for another 6 hours.

Even though it was a short trip, it was very worth it. Pulling into Hurricane I kept thinking, I'm finally home. Don't get me wrong, I love Vernal, but it's not home yet. It was really sad to be a few houses down from where we used to live and know that it was someone else's house now. It was a little emotional for me. The best part of the trip was getting to see most of the people we had to leave. It kind of felt like we had just been on a long trip and had just gotten home, but my brain knew better.

We dropped Addi off at her Aunt Subrina's at 1 am and the first two picture are after we left. She was in bed and snuck out to see her cousin Kensi. They were so happy to be together again. Subrina told them she promised me that she would make Addi get some sleep, so she told them it was time to say goodnight and go to sleep. So they cuddled up and pretended to go to sleep.

I had a hard time picking just a few pictures to put on of our trip, so I put a lot of them on here. Some of them are from the Splash Park. We went there at 9:15Pm on Sat. and it was so perfect outside. The water was great. It was nice to be there with the warmth, but no sun burning down on you. The kids loved it. Treyson was constantly running up and down the steam and climbing all over the rocks. Addi was difficult to take pictures of, cause she kept running away from me, but I did manage to get some.

Before we went to the Splash Park we went to Spencer's parents house and Glade cooked us a wonderful dinner and we just played around and visited. Treyson acted a little shy around everyone at first except for Cooper and Sue Ann. He kept running up to Grandma and giving her hugs then would climb down and do it again a few minutes later. Katie put on a nice clogging show for us and then we went out and were doing tricks on Sue Ann's little exercise trap. Then we decided to try doing some cart wheels. It's all a lot tougher than it was when we were younger, but we enjoyed trying. We didn't see Spencer's parents much on Saturday cause they had to work, but we were able to have brunch with them on Sunday and we spent the afternoon looking at pictures and talking about old times. It was so nice to see everyone and get to spend some time at our home away from home.
