Gone Fishing!!!

Since I decided to buy a fishing license I decided I was going to actually use it. So, I talked my brother-in-law, Steve, and my sister, Rachel, into going fishing with me. We drove up to Red Fleet to the free beach and had a good ol' time.

Rachel and Steve fishing. They didn't know I was snapping pictures.

Of course I had to have a picture of me fishing. I fished a little when I was little, but to be honest, I had no clue what I was doing. It had been at least 10 years since I went last and I hardly went before that. Thanks to Steve I learned not to cast like I was throwing a softball and learned to let the pole do more of the work. They had some good laughs watching me before they told me I looked like and idiot, of course.
So anyway, I bought my license the day before we went up to Red Fleet, my very first fishing license! Well, I was off away from the others and I see a guy walk up to steve, but had no clue what was going on. Then he starts trekking over to me. Can you guess what he wanted? He wanted to see my license! Well, guess where my license was? In the car...ya I didn't know you were supposed to have it on you and never thought much about it cause honestly who gets asked for their license? I told him is was in my sisters car but I would go get it, but he didn't want to walk clear back the the car to see it and I told him how it was my first time fishing as an adult and I was still learning and he was really cool about it. He said I didn't look worried about it and I seemed like an honest person so he would take my word for it since he had some more walking around to do. He asked if I had caught anything and I hadn't so he started giving me tips to show up the others and told me where to go. So of course, I listened.
My sister saw him talking to me and hurry and ran up to the car to get my license so on his way back I went and showed him my license so that he knew for sure I was telling the truth. That's when he saw it...my pole. I had everything on all wrong! He was really nice and helped me to put everything on right and gave me a few more tips before he took off. It was quite an interesting fishing trip.

That's about all we ended up catching... a towel...and some moss!

So we were getting ready to head home and I was dreading having to put my muddy feet into my shoes so I came up with a bright idea...ding...I would put Walmart sacks on my feet! So I rinsed them off and tied some sacks on. I had now idea Steve was behind me about to kick me in. I thought they were laughing at me, but they were laughing at Steve. Luckily he was just playing and really didn't do it.

I walked up to the car like this, I'm such a weirdo!

I can't believe I'm posting this one. My sister's car is pretty new and she did not want me in her car all wet. So another bright plan of mine...I stripped down and wore my jacket like a skirt. I was able to get into her car dry and clean. My brother-in-law on the other hand, he sat in the booster seat with some Walmart sacks hanging off the edge to protect the seats. We forgot to get a picture of that one though. It was pretty funny.

We had a lot of good laughs, a lot of fun, and quite a bit of peace and quiet. It was such a great fishing trip and I plan on doing a lot more. I'm just nervous to actually catch one, cause then I won't know what to do with it!
