Ready to get lost?

We went to the corn maze the week before Halloween and had a pretty good time. The maze wasn't really hard because there were NO dead ends. There were ways that took you in circles, but I think it would have been a little better to have some dead ends in there, although with the kids with us it was probably better to not get lost for hours. It was still fun though. They had a few little things there for the little kids to do out front of the maze. The kids had a blast.

Is there a phobia for the fear of flies?

I thought this was hilarious. It started at breakfast and went on until after lunch. I would kill one fly and then another one would appear. I ended up killing 7 flies. It's my fault though cause I left the door open for quite a while. I felt kind of bad, but at the same time I couldn't stop laughing. Treyson kept saying, "I'm scared, the bugs gonna get me, I'm scared. He has never acted scared of a fly before and usually stops to examine bugs. I've never known anyone who was scared of a fly.

Ready to Race?

Last night we went to our elders corm party. It was pretty fun. We took the kids and they had babysitters in the nursery for us. We got to get to know some people a little bit better as well as eat dinner. After dinner the men had the pinewood derby race. Most of the men waited until last day to make the cars, but they still put quite a bit of effort into it. Spencer on the other hand waited, but was too busy to take time to make it. I really wanted him to be able to race a car so I tried to figure out how to make one. It didn't take me too long to give up. My mom on the other hand had made one before so she was determined to get it done. There was a problem though, we couldn't find her tools. We spent so much time looking for them that we only made one cut on the wood and then we were ready for bed. We decided we were going to try to finish it the next day (the day of the derby). We didn't end up having the time so we just went without it. While we were there the elders corm president told us to just go grab it and put the wheels on it. So my mom ran home and improvised on what we were planning and then brought it back to the church where Spencer put the wheels on and got it finished. He actually didn't do too bad for not taking anytime to do it. He didn't win, but he didn't take last place either. He didn't go home empty handed, he won best paint job (with no paint on it, only tape) and he got a medal. It was a lot of fun and it gave us a nice little date.

Snake River Championships 08'

This weekend Spencer and I went to Idaho Falls for the Snake River Power lifting Championships. Spencer did AWESOME!!! He is so dedicated. He gets up at 3:30am four days a week to train for these events. He took 1st place in the 148 weight class. He weighed in at 148.5 lbs. He got all 9 of his attempts for the 1st time. He lifted about 70 more lbs total in this meet than his last one. He is continually getting stronger. He did this with having a sinus infection the week of the meet, losing 10 lbs in one week, having a pulled tendon in his hip, and pretty much training himself.

This is Spencer's 3rd attempt on the squat. He squatted 540 lbs.

This is Spencer's 3rd attempt on bench. He lifted 330 lbs.

This was Spencer's 3rd attempt on deadlift. He lifted 485 lbs.

And of course, this is his cool trophy. It's his favorite of all he has gotten.
Congratulations honey!

Nick, David, Spencer

David Edmondson has the Master AAPF world record total for the 148 class. Spencer contacted him a couple of years ago and David wrote him up a work out and helped train him over the phone. He met him for the 1st time in June 07' at the NASA Nationals and he was so helpful to Spencer. This was the 2nd meet David and Spencer were at together and once again, David helped him out. We are hoping to work it out so that Spencer can get with him every other month or so to help him train. David has been so amazing to take his time to help fellow power lifters. Thank you so much David!

Nick is one of David's trainee's as well. Spencer and him have also been keeping in touch and cheering each other on.

This was so cute. A while back they started a childrens power lifting event. The didn't have any squatters, but they had deadlifting and bench. The littlest kid was 3 and the oldest was 11. Some of the kids used real weights and the ones who were too little had a styraphome bar bell. They had a guy who made a little miniature weight bench and the styraphome bar bell that he donated for this event. All of the kids took 1st place. They did this to try to make it into a family event where the children can be involved and not just have to sit there all day. I think it was a great idea and it was so cute to watch.

Bounce Like Tigger!!!

Last weekend we were able to take a trip down to St. George. It was so nice to be back home. I'm going to post more pictures soon, but for now this is all ya get. Treyson has been obsessed with this Poo toy for a long time. Every time we go to Nana and Papa's house, it's the first thing he goes for. He just loves it. He still hasn't forgotten about it. While this time he was getting really into playing with it. Sadly I waited until was calming down before I thought about getting the camera out. It's still pretty funny though.

Addison's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Addison Started kindergarten today. Can you believe it? My little baby is growing up so fast. Of course I took quite a few pictures this morning and had a hard time just picking one, but I managed to pick my top 3 at least. She had a great day and absolutely loved it. She learned to do push ups, sit ups and some other exercise I don't know the name for. She had to show me right away. I went to pick her up today and couldn't find her. I was starting to get worried so I asked the teachers out front and they helped me find her. She was on the bus! I thought we were going to slowly work towards taking the bus, but I guess not. She went cold turkey. They lady helping me got her off the bus and I asked her if she wanted to ride the bus or ride home with me and she wanted to ride the bus with her new friend. So I went and waited for her at the bus stop and she walked the two blocks home while I followed behind like a worrisome mother. It was a happy, yet emotional day for me. I was so excited for her yet sad to see my baby growing up so quickly. Addison is so smart, such a sweetheart and so full of life. I'm sure she will have a great year in kindergarten.

I asked Addison where she wanted to take a picture and she picked by what we call "The Addison Tree". It's a tree that her and my mom planted together this summer and Addison picked the name of the tree.

Date at the Park

The kids and I had a date to the park last week. We had been cooped up most of the day and all needed to get out, so we picked up some A&W and went to Naples park to have dinner and play our little hearts out. We were there for two hours! I don't know about anyone else, but that was a long time to be at the park running around chasing kids and taking pictures. We had a blast and got plenty wore out in time for bed!

Uintah County Fair

We went to the Uintah County Fair a couple of weeks ago. We had so much fun...Or should I say the kids had so much fun and we, the parents, enjoyed watching them have fun. The kids were the ones who got to do all the playing. I had a ton of pictures from the day and had a hard time picking and choosing which ones to blog, so I just made a couple of collages of some of my favorites.

First we went out to the carnival. Addison had a constant smile while Treyson was so sleepy at time I thought he was going to pass out on the rides. Even though he was sleepy, you could tell he was having fun. Addison was such a good big sister and helped him on and off most of the rides. Of course, we couldn't forget the cotton candy before leaving the carnival.

We went inside to a little barn thing the 4-H set up. They had a little activity for the kids to do. First we planted the seeds in the dirt, second we got to see where they grew and pick the veggies, third we got some corn, fourth we rode on the "tractors" to gather hay, fifth we got milk from a cow and eggs from a chicken, sixth we sold our product to the store where we got paid, and with our pay we bought a snack. The kids really enjoyed doing this. I think Addison learned a lot while Treyson just went a long not really knowing what the heck was going on. Overall, it was a great day!

Family Fun Weekend

This past weekend we decided to spend the weekend as a family and we had a blast together fishing, swimming and just being together. We drove up through some of the most beautiful mountainous area's around here and we went to Red Fleet and Steinaker Reservoir. It was great just taking some time to go be together and be out enjoying nature.

The kids were so excited when I caught my first fish

Me showing off my first fish. It wasn't very big.

Addison making a sand castle and Treyson throwing a bobber like a ball into the water and then he would run in to get it.

Splashing in the water

He was stopping to say cheese

Spencer was changing his bait cause what he had just wasn't attracting any fish

It worked! He caught a fish. Turns out my first fish was the biggest we caught and that blue gils are usually really small as you can see from the picture.

The next day when we were at Steinaker we had no luck, but still had a lot of fun trying to catch something and playing in the water. On our way home we decided to stop and see where this thing led to.

Addison and Trey took off running, but I had to make them stop to get a picture.
